David Jenkin

David was born and raised on Auckland's North Shore and educated at Westlake Boys High School. After completing a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Auckland, he picked up holiday work preparing secondhand pianos for sale and has worked with pianos ever since.

Yuji Nakamura

Yuji Nakamura began training as a piano tuner/technician with Yamaha in 1982. He spent the next ten years with the company, initially as a concert tuner and technician in Tokyo, and then in the sales department of the Hokkaido branch office.

Mokie Lee

After performance degrees in Piano, Organ and Jazz at Canterbury University and teaching English in Korea, Mokie completed her training as a piano tuner / technician ARPT with us in 2013.

William Humbert

William grew up in a musical family learning the cello from the age of 7 later playing in an orchestra. He also learned the piano and during time spent in Scotland he found an broken old out of tune piano and tried to fix it. His interest in piano technology was awakened.

Apprentices, training, interns and visiting technicians.

Jenkin Piano Service has over the last 25 years trained seven New Zealand tuner technicians and is currently the only place in New Zealand that provides a structured apprenticeship programme for piano tuners and technicians.
