David is active in the New Zealand Piano Tuners' & Technicians' Guild Inc. a branch member of the Australasian Piano Tuners' & Technicians' Guild. The guild aims to raise piano service standards and improve members' skills through technical workshops, meetings, seminars and biannual conferences. Entry is by examination.
Members are bound by a code of ethics.
